Guarujá, Brasil Accoya was chosen for Jungle House In the Jungle House project located on Guarujá Beach in Brazil, Accoya wood was used in many different areas to give this impressive structure a natural and aesthetic appearance. Accoya was preferred for the exterior cladding and high-quality terrace flooring of the project, and the wall panels, room furniture and special Muxarabi joinery in the interior were also designed with Accoya. Muxarabi is a special joinery technique that filters light and creates different shadow plays throughout the day and is used to increase the aesthetic value of the architectural design. The architect preferred to naturally gray the Accoya wood over time without applying any color, ensuring that the structure gained an appearance in harmony with its surroundings. Accoya was also the prominent material in the project thanks to its superior resistance to Brazil's intense heat and humidity conditions. Greece Perfect Choice by the Pool Accoya deck panels supplied by Atlas Wood were chosen for a swimming pool terrace in a private residence in Greece. The client chose Accoya for its superior stability, first-class durability and environmentally friendly structure. Håhammaren, Norway Norway's Nature-Compatible Hiking Path This 850-metre long walking track, known as the Stavanger Boardwalk, is a route that attracts great interest from both locals and visitors. Offering an ideal area for runners, cyclists and nature walkers, the project connects the coastal villages in the Håhammaren region overlooking the Hafrsfjord, one of Norway’s famous fjords. Two bridges and walking paths were built within the scope of the project, one of which is 45 metres long and the other 30 metres long. This project was launched by the Stavanger regional authorities in 2011. The aim was to create a structure that would be both innovative and leave a lasting impression, while preserving the natural environment and the terrain as much as possible. In this context, the foundations of the bridge are fixed directly to the seabed, and the 45-metre long section is finished with Accoya timber cladding with geometric patterns. In order to provide additional slip resistance, cross grooves were added to the surface for cold periods when the risk of ice formation is high. Inside the bridge, there is also an integrated Accoya wooden bench where visitors can sit, relax and enjoy the unique view of Hafrsfjord. Long-lasting, durable and environmentally friendly, Accoya wood provided an aesthetic, safe and environmentally friendly solution for this project.

The owners wanted to build a sustainable home that took advantage of its hilltop location, and the structure was designed to open up in three different directions, offering impressive views of the sea and Dungeness headland. The architects, who wanted to use environmentally friendly and weather-resistant materials for the project, chose Accoya wood, which stands out for its high durability and sustainability. Accoya is known in the architecture industry as a reliable material with a long-lasting and stable structure. Caspar Rodgers from Alma-nac explains their choice as follows: “We chose Accoya because we wanted to build with an environmentally friendly material that is resistant to changing weather conditions. Accoya is known in the industry as a highly sustainable product that offers high durability and stability, so it was the ideal material for us.” The exterior windows, window sills and doors in the project are made of Accoya wood. A total of 38 fixed and opening Accoya windows and 22 glazed door wings were installed. Accoya's special acetylation process makes the wood extremely durable, stable and long-lasting, ensuring that the doors and windows require minimal maintenance for years. Thanks to these superior performance features, Split House stands out as both an aesthetic and sustainable structure. The Hague, Netherlands Accoya Wood at the American School of The Hague - 7 Years Later The American School of The Hague, located in The Hague, Netherlands, was originally a 16th-century farmhouse that was transformed in 2014 into a modern school complex that offers a comfortable learning environment for approximately 250 children aged 0-6. In this transformation, Accoya wood was used not only in the façade, wooden windows and doors, but also in the roofs and wooden substructures of the old barn. In this way, a strong architectural connection was established between the historic farmhouse and the modern school structure. Rotterdam-based Kraaijvanger Architects worked meticulously to create this synergy, achieving the best balance between sustainability and the environment in their third project using Accoya wood. The classrooms are positioned on a sloped site so that the children can benefit from maximum daylight. When we revisited the project in the summer of 2021, we were faced with a school complex that had matured naturally and become more beautiful over time. The building facade, which was initially vanilla in color, turned into a platinum silver tone thanks to the unprotected (unpainted) installation of Accoya wood, giving the project an aesthetic depth. On the other hand, the windows and doors were protected with a transparent coating, increasing their durability. La Paz, Baja California Sur – Mexico Maritime Themed Architecture and Use of Accoya Baja Club is a 32-room lifestyle hotel designed for hotel group Grupo Habita, located in the historic center and coastline of La Paz, Mexico. The architectural design of the hotel features maritime-inspired details. The horizontal fluid form and curved partition elements in the newly built structure are complemented by Accoya wood cladding, reinforcing the maritime concept. The 3623 m² project involves the restoration and re-use of a colonial-style villa dating back to 1910, combined with a newly built four-story annex and basement. The new structure reflects the villa’s L-shaped floor plan, creating a harmonious architectural unity surrounding a central courtyard. 20 m³ of Accoya wood was used in the project, designed by Max von Werz Architects and supplied and installed by INNTEC Group. Accoya’s long-lasting, sustainable and aesthetic structure perfectly complements Baja Club Hotel’s architectural concept, which blends modern and historical elements.

Assen, Holland An Impressive 6-Meter-High Accoya Wooden Sculpture in Assen On World Animal Day, a 6-metre-high dog statue made entirely of Accoya wood was unveiled in Assen. The statue, called ‘Mannes the Dog’, was designed by Rotterdam artists Nio and Sefarijn and produced by Arie Doornekamp for Doornekamp Woodspecials. The statue, made of a total of 15m³ of Accoya wood, consists of 25 pieces and took a year to build. Each piece of the statue was completed by gluing Accoya wooden beams measuring 63 cm x 150 cm and then processing them to create the anatomy of the dog. The statue design includes specially drilled holes for children to interact with. When the children’s voices are heard, steam is released from the statue, providing an interactive experience. Arie Doornekamp explained the reason for choosing Accoya as follows: Our team immediately understood that we had to use Accoya wood. Thanks to its exceptional durability and dimensional stability, ‘Mannes’ will hardly shrink or expand in the open air, minimizing maintenance needs. This impressive sculpture has earned its place as a permanent work of art in Assen thanks to Accoya’s long-lasting construction, environmentally friendly features and aesthetic flexibility. Kalmthoutse Heide, Belgium Dynamic Views of Nature from the Fire Lookout Tower The Kalmthoutse Heide park in Belgium has gained a major landmark with a new 42-metre-high fire watchtower. Architects NOHNIK and Bureau Bouwtechniek, as well as engineering firms ABT België, have designed an elegant lattice structure that combines wood and steel in perfect harmony. The tower offers a dynamic and panoramic view of the Kalmthoutse Heide landscape from every angle. The tower, consisting of 6-metre-high segments, has a structure that rotates and merges at each level. The staircase design also follows the same rotating structure, changing direction at each level, making climbing the tower an impressive experience in itself. This watchtower not only provides an efficient workspace for fire watch teams, but also allows visitors and nature enthusiasts to discover the magnificent views of the region. Accoya wood was chosen for the railings, banisters and fire watch platforms of this striking structure. The combination of steel truss construction and Accoya wood gives the tower an aesthetic that is both stylish and in harmony with nature. A sophisticated look is achieved by using different wood thicknesses and intervals. Thanks to Accoya's natural color and material structure, the tower provides a perfect integrity with the surrounding natural landscape. British Columbia, Kanada Custom Floating Dock with Accoya Wood Opening to the Sea A boat dock and floating raft, custom designed and built by Michael Green Architecture in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada, has been finished with Accoya wood cladding. Located off the coast of Salt Spring Island, this unique floating dock provides additional space for the boat to rest, while also providing a great place to whale watch and enjoy the magnificent natural scenery. Salt Spring Island is the largest southern Gulf Island between mainland British Columbia and Vancouver Island. Accoya wood is an excellent choice for these challenging environments, where it is constantly exposed to moisture and water, due to its dimensional stability and superior resistance to decay. It requires minimal maintenance over time and has a long lifespan, making it an ideal material for marine structures. This impressive floating structure was designed by Michael Green Architecture, and the Accoya wood was supplied by Canadian Bavarian. Vic, Barcelona, Spain Use of Accoya Double Facade in the New Pilarín Bayés Library One of the most important features that makes this structure unique is its double façade design. The reflection of natural light from the exterior to the interior ensures that the interior is illuminated with daylight and that the surrounding trees, gardens and historical city views are naturally included in the interior. Accoya was chosen for the exterior cladding, creating a transition area between the double façade. The architects aimed to use a material with a natural appearance to strengthen the connection between the interior and the outside world, and Accoya, which stands out with its high performance, durability and stability features, perfectly met this need. Accoya, with its sustainability and long-lasting structure, has become an ideal choice for exterior applications. The Accoya wood used in this project was supplied by Accoya distributor Grupo Gámiz.

Çapa 1 ACETYLATION PROCESS How Does the Modified Wood Process Work? 1 Hydroxyl Groups Wood's Water Sensitivity Natural wood contains water-attracting hydroxyl groups, which cause swelling and shrinkage. Over time, this leads to deformation and reduced durability. 2 Acetyl Groups Natural Water Resistance By replacing hydroxyl groups with acetyl groups, wood becomes more water-resistant and stable, reducing the risk of swelling and rot. 3 Acetylation Chemical Transformation for Moisture Resistance Wood is treated with acetic anhydride, which chemically changes its structure to enhance moisture resistance, minimize swelling, and extend lifespan. 4 Acetylated Wood Maximum Durability & Sustainability Accoya retains the same elements as natural wood but with increased acetyl content, resulting in outstanding durability, minimal maintenance, and superior dimensional stability. Acetylated Wood Accoya The Foundation of Superior Durability Accoya gains exceptional durability, dimensional stability, and high resistance to decay compared to traditional wood through an innovative modification process called acetylation. This advanced technology strengthens the wood’s cellular structure permanently, minimizing swelling, shrinking, and deformation. Thanks to this innovative process, Accoya becomes a long-lasting wood solution backed by a 50-year warranty. Additionally, it stands out as an eco-friendly building material since it is produced from FSC® certified sustainable sources and contains no toxic substances. The tests found that Accoya has exceptional dimensional stability and that the cladding can be expanded from standard 150 mm wide profiles to 200 mm. These results prove that Accoya offers more flexible design options and stands out with its superior performance compared to other types of wood. Coating Performance BM Trada compared Accoya cladding with pine and Siberian larch in a series of durability tests launched in Buckinghamshire, England in February 2007. The same translucent black coating was used to ensure maximum radiant heat generation and to test resistance to natural weathering. After 3.5 years of testing, Accoya was found to have superior performance compared to pine and Siberian larch. While pine cladding showed cracking, resin leakage, paint peeling and surface deterioration, Siberian larch showed resin pockets and surface deformation. Accoya maintained its durability without any swelling, cracking or paint peeling on its surface. It was proven that external dirt can be easily cleaned, providing a durable and clean surface. These tests clearly demonstrate that Accoya has superior cladding performance compared to competing materials. Catalogs Superior Durability Assessed by BRE Although BS EN 350-2 does not apply to modified timber, Accoya has achieved Durability Class 1, the highest level for natural timber, in an assessment by BRE. The Accoya wood supplied by Universal Forest Products was charred using the traditional Japanese “Shou Sugi Ban” method, giving the façade a modern and weathered texture. This technique created a striking and deep visual effect. Delta discovered that the charred Accoya developed superior density and durability compared to other wood types. Accoya’s natural dimensional stability combined with charring created a strong foundation for long-lasting performance. DECkING SIDING DOORS & WINDOWS INSPIRING PROJECTS

Accoya timber, which stands out with its natural and low-maintenance structure, was the preferred material for the exterior cladding. Threesixty Architecture, which undertook the architectural design of the project, preferred the Accoya cladding provided by Russwood and the profile dimensions used were determined as 47mm × 25mm and 73mm × 50mm (on the edge). Before the application, the cladding was specially coated with Teknos FI-024 by Russwood in the factory. This process increased the resistance of the wood to natural weather conditions, while giving the structure a warm texture and aesthetic integrity. Russwood supplied A1 quality Accoya timber in accordance with the project requirements and offered it in a modular system in panels measuring 150mm x 50mm in order to speed up the assembly process. Robertson Construction, the project’s main contractor, successfully completed the installation of the Accoya exterior cladding. Malibu, America Zero Carbon Certified Housing in Malibu This private residence’s exterior cladding, ceilings and interior paneling are made of FSC-certified Accoya wood. As seen in the image, the ceiling of the room is covered with 25-meter Accoya wood panels, and there are skylights at the top providing natural light. In addition, Accoya woods treated with Delta Black coating by Delta Millworks were used as decorative cladding around the fireplace. On Pointe Design, who undertook the interior architecture of the project, explains the reason for choosing Accoya around the fireplace as follows: “By using a zero-emission fireplace, we were able to use combustible shou sugi ban treated wood directly flush with the fire chamber.” Shou sugi ban is a traditional Japanese technique that allows the surface of the wood to be burned in a controlled manner, making it resistant to water and weather conditions. On Pointe Design stated that they preferred FSC-certified Accoya wood as a sustainable alternative to traditionally used cedar wood for this special surface treatment technique. The Accoya wooden exterior cladding used in this project was supplied and applied in accordance with international sustainability standards. Designed with the goal of zero carbon emissions, this luxury residence stands out as a pioneering structure in terms of environmental sustainability. Terschelling, Holland Unique View to the Dutch Sand Dunes This private residence on the Dutch coastline is located in a position with a magnificent view of the world-famous sand dunes, offering its residents the opportunity to experience this unique natural beauty every day. Starting with a concrete base layer, the structure is constructed using cross-laminated timber (CLT) and steel construction, and finally completed with a steeply sloped, asymmetrical roof covered with Accoya wood. The natural Accoya wood will mature to a platinum grey color over time and become part of the natural landscape, integrating with the dunes. In addition, thanks to the skylight placed on the roof, it offers the opportunity to look out over the island and other surrounding houses from a high perspective while on the mezzanine floor under the roof dome. This sustainable and nature-compatible design makes a difference with its natural materials, modern architectural solutions and details that integrate with the environment, bringing a new breath to the architecture in the region.
